Zed for MAC
Fast, open-source code editor built in Rust, with AI agents, real-time collaboration and Git built in. Free for personal use.
Zed Overview
Zed is a minimal, very fast code editor for Mac, written from scratch in Rust by the team that created Atom and Tree-sitter. It uses all of your CPU cores and draws its interface on the GPU with Metal, so opening big projects, searching and typing stay smooth. Zed supports most programming languages through Tree-sitter and language servers, and adds AI agents, live collaboration with teammates, Git tools and a built-in terminal.
The editor is free and open source; the core is released under the GPL-3.0 license. The free Personal plan has no limits and works with your own AI API keys or external agents such as Claude Agent and Codex CLI. An optional Pro plan ($10 a month, with a 14-day free trial) adds Zed-hosted AI models and unlimited edit predictions. Zed runs on macOS 10.15.7 or later, with separate downloads for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and new versions arrive every week.
Key Features
Zed is built to stay out of your way while you write code.

GeanyGeany is a small, fast integrated development environment built on the GTK toolkit.
